News: move to the University of Basel

In February 2010, I was appointed as a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Basel in Switzerland. The move to Basel is scheduled for summer/fall 2010.

General research interests

Quantum optics with ultracold atoms, atom chips (quantum laboratory on a microchip), quantum optical systems coupled to micro- and nanostructured solid-state systems (hybrid quantum systems), entanglement and spin-squeezing of Bose-Einstein condensates, quantum information processing, experimental tests of quantum mechanics.
